Extensively renovated until 2015, Atlantis by Giardino — which is located at the bottom of the Üetliberg — takes inspiration from its glamorous era during the 70s, when many popstars and actors were guests of the hotel, including Frank Zappa, Shirley MacLaine and Freddie Mercury. The property, with its three wings, resembles a ‘Y’, including parts that are listed property, such as the spiral staircase. The 95 rooms and suites are adorned with dark parquet flooring, textured walls and stone surfaces in the bathrooms.

The interior design plays with the unusual architecture of the building, teaming original marble and wood with contemporary furnishings designed in London, blending casual elegance and stylish chic. Blurring interior and exterior, the hotel’s two restaurants — the Hide & Seek and the Ecco Zürich — feature floor-to-ceiling windows, flooding the cool, calming spaces with natural light.
