On the site of a former monastery, with roots dating back to the 14th century, Mandarin Oriental, Prague is located in the picturesque Malá Strana district. Unfurling from the river that threads through the capital, the area’s maze of cobbled streets is lined with shops, churches and Czech eateries. Visitors can stroll across the iconic Charles Bridge to the Old Town, a melting pot of Gothic, Baroque, Art Nouveau and cubist-style architecture. Here, travellers can relax with a local beer at one of the many bars dotted around the main square.

Overlooking either the monastery gardens or the Gothic spires and gold-tipped towers that soar above the city rooftops, each of the hotel’s 99 rooms and 20 suites combines charming period features with contemporary style and subtle Asian touches.

Spread across five Renaissance-era vaulted rooms, Spices Restaurant and Bar dishes up authentic Asian specialities and delectable cocktails. The terrace in the cobbled courtyard offers a perfect spot for al fresco dining in the heart of Prague’s historic district. In the cosy wine cellar, beneath exposed-brick arches, guests can enjoy private events such as wine tastings, cocktail parties and intimate dinners.

With soaring ceilings, whitewashed arches and Baroque columns, the beautiful cloister corridor characterising the Monastery Lounge is a spectacular venue for events and weddings.

Linked to the hotel by an underground passageway, the award-winning Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Prague is located in a former Renaissance chapel. Echoing the longstanding spa culture of central Europe, it provides a mind-settling variety of holistic treatments, from Thai, four-hand and full-body massage to signature therapies designed by master aromatherapists and specialists in traditional Chinese medicine. There are seven treatment rooms (including two for couples), featuring private heat- and water-based facilities such as a vitality pool and an aromatic steam shower, as well as a fitness centre with two saunas.

What’s more, the hotel offers excellent banqueting and conference services — ideal for business and social events for up to 180 people.
