Situated 3,200m above sea level, the Banyan Tree Ringha is aptly set in Shangri-La in China’s frontier region of Yunnan. The secluded hideaway features 32 suites and lodges created from authentic Tibetan farmhouses. With smoky fireplaces and handcrafted wooden bathtubs, they’re the ultimate escape from the daily routine.

The award-winning spa blends signature Banyan Tree styles with traditional Himalayan treatments. Visitors can try the Gui Shi Hot Stones treatment or the Ringha massage to ease muscles after strenuous local hikes, and end the day at Chang-Sa, for tasty hot pots and barbecues or opt for Tibetan and Western cuisine at Llamo restaurant.

To top off the experience, the hotel has its very own resident pup, Lanka. The pure-blood Tibetan mastiff is very much part of the furniture and can guide guests on walks through woods overlooking the Ringha valley.
