Emerald-green woodland curls around Hotel SPA Dr Irena Eris Polanica Zdrój, creating the ultimate secluded hideaway. The five-star hotel can be found nestled among pine-clad mountains in the heart of one of the most popular health resorts in Lower Silesia in southwestern Poland. A short hop from the Mineral Water Pump Room and Zdrojowy Park, this cosy bolthole blends exquisite luxury with the tranquility of nature.

Lavish guest rooms are crammed with modern amenities and many come with a balcony or terrace offering views across the lush forest and beyond to the peaks of the Sudetes Mountains. But it’s the welcoming staff who make this hotel extra special — and German wellness association, Deutscher Wellness Verband, agrees, having awarded the hotel a Premium Quality certificate for excellent service.

Guests will find four different types of pool in the spa: a swimming pool with floor-to-ceiling windows; an indoor pool with jets to massage aching limbs; two indoor whirlpool baths, as well as an outdoor one overlooking the forest; and a children’s pool to keep little ones entertained. There’s also a whole complex of saunas, including a Finnish sauna, steam room and dry sauna with woodland views, plus cosy relaxation areas to unwind in. For action, exercise in the cardio studio or fitness room next door, play a game of squash or head outdoors onto the tennis court.

The Skin Care Institute houses 20 beauty therapy rooms decked out with the latest hi-tech equipment. Here, spa-goers can lay back as highly qualified therapists carry out innovative face and body treatments using the best cosmetic products, such as microdermabrasion to exfoliate and regenerate skin; Botox to smooth out wrinkles; and mesotherapy, an electrical therapy that can help with everything from skin ageing and hair loss to cellulite and stretch marks. Not forgetting a revitalising array of massages — from hot stone to full-body — to leave guests feeling renewed.

Creating a stir among foodie travellers, the Art Deco restaurant dishes up a selection of Polish delicacies, made only with seasonal, local ingredients, served with the finest wines.
