Lake Bogoria Spa Resort is set in an acacia grove in the Great Rift Valley, 165 miles north of the country’s capital, Nairobi. It’s the only resort in Kenya with a naturally heated spa pool — known as the ‘healing place’ for its therapeutic qualities.

The resort has six executive rooms, 30 junior suites, 38 cottage rooms, 21 standard rooms and 20 tents with beds, offering visitors an exceptional range of choice. The resort is a haven of relaxation and comfort, with an eco-friendly design that incorporates wild gardens and an array of recreational spaces. It also offers a slice of authentic African culture, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region and its Nilotic people.

Just a five-minute drive away is one of the geological wonders of the world: Lake Bogoria National Reserve. Popularly known for its bubbling hot springs and steaming geysers, the lake is home to 135 species of birds, including flamingo and marabou stork, while the wider reserve plays host to a vast array of wildlife, such as the greater kudu antelope, impala, Grant’s gazelle, cheetah and waterbuck. As well as guided birdwatching tours along the Kesubo nature trail, guests can also join day-trip excursions to the Tugen Hills and the Kipsaraman historic site, or set off on a boat ride on Lake Baringo.

The hotel’s two restaurants serve fresh produce from the onsite organic farm: Bogoria Kudu offers a mix of international and African dishes, while Bogoria Choma Ranch welcomes guests with an open-kitchen atmosphere and dishes up local cuisine alongside cosmopolitan delicacies.

Those seeking a more relaxing day can enjoy a soothing massage or swim lengths in the 25m cold-water pool. There are also plenty of opportunitites for burning off excess energy — such as badminton, table tennis or water polo — while the kids have fun in the playground.

Onsite conference facilities cater for up to 200 people indoors or 1,000 people outdoors, with team-building events a strong focus at the resort. What’s more, the scenic beauty of the lush gardens also makes Lake Bogoria Spa Resort an idyllic wedding and honeymoon hotspot.
