Away from the hustle and bustle of Agadir, and just five minutes from the sleepy fishing village of Taghazout, Paradis Plage Eco-Resort sits on one of Morocco’s finest surf spots. It’s an oasis of sun, sea and sand, boasting cloudless skies for 300 days of the year and perched idyllically on seven acres of white beach. In the background, jutting mountains tower above the crystal clear waters of the Atlantic.

Guests can choose from a range of accommodation types, including prestige suites, bungalows, villas and luxury apartments. The rooms are spacious and decorated with local artwork, giving each one its own unique charm. Beautiful views span over sweeping lawns or down to the ocean, and the gentle sounds of the sea can be heard across the hotel.

Paradis Plage is the first eco-resort in Morocco to combine surf, yoga and a traditional organic spa, creating a unique experience that sees guests flit from lessons at the Rip Curl Surf School to yoga classes on the sand. Sunset views mean salutations can be honed to a sky ablaze with reds, oranges and yellows. Come nightfall, an outdoor movie theatre at the back of the surf house lets guests relax with a movie under the stars, breathing in the fresh sea air.

After a day building up an appetite on a surf board or practicing downwards-facing dog, guests can stretch out aching muscles at Paradise Spa — a vast relaxation space decked out in marble, glass and wood, complete with hammam, hydromassage bath and a varied menu of treatments.

A stay at Paradis Plage doesn’t have to be solely about the surf and spa: visitors can stroll around the zen garden, cosy up next to the camp fire or explore the nearby city of Essaouira — a veritable paradise for history buffs.

The resort’s three restaurants offer plenty of choice, with menus revolving around local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Fresh fish is delivered from the local fishing harbour and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes are always available. This is real Moroccan gastronomy, with a focus on health and wellbeing.
