Cosmopolitan Hotel Prague

The latest boutique luxury hotel in town, the five-star Cosmopolitan Hotel is centrally located on a quiet street in Prague’s Old Town, just a short walk from the city’s main shopping and sightseeing attractions. Situated in an 1889 townhouse — which has been carefully restored using a modern take on the belle epoque-style — this luxury boutique hotel retains aspects of the historic building, but has transformed the interiors to create a blend of old and new.

The hotel has 106 spacious rooms and suites, all decorated in elegant cream shades. Swarovski elements lift the rooms, adding a touch of glamour to the mixed contemporary and traditional feel. Comfortable beds have crisp cotton sheets and fluffy duvets, while the bathrooms have heated floors.

Move down to the lower ground floor of the hotel, and guests have complimentary access to the 24-hour fitness studio and sauna. The former offers various cardiovascular machines, including a treadmill, an upright bike and an elliptical crosstrainer, plus a four-station core tower and a multi-adjustable bench with a large selection of free weights and accessories. There’s also a Bosu Trainer, gym balls and mats, and an experienced personal trainer is available on request to offer advice and assistance.

Indulgent and relaxing personalised massages are also available, in partnership with the Cosmopolitan’s sister property, Art Deco Imperial Wellness, which is located just over the road from the hotel. However, for those guests staying in executive rooms or suites, treatments can be carried out in the room, upon arrangement with the concierge. The wide selection of treatments on offer range from relaxing and pampering massages through to physiotherapy.

Celebrity chef Zdenek Pohlreich, who presents a weekly show on Czech TV, runs the Cosmopolitan Hotel’s Next Door restaurant. Designed by Italian architect Luciano Belcapo, Next Door’s openplan kitchen adds to the drama of the sumptuous setting, while Pohlreich’s menu blends modern Czech fare with classic cuisine, made from the freshest ingredients, in a trendy bistro style space.
