Lake Nakuru Lodge is a beautiful eco-lodge inside Lake Nakuru National Park that features unobstructed views of the lake.

It’s located in the heart of one of Kenya’s most densely animal-populated wetland national parks, only two hours’ drive from the capital, Nairobi, through some of the most exiting scenery to be seen anywhere in Africa.

The lodge is an oasis of comfort and excellent service, with commanding views of the lesser and greater flamingo for which Lake Nakuru is justly famous. It’s another world for visitors, one where they can easily forget the hustle and bustle of the city. The lodge blends well with its surroundings. Wildlife, including countless species of birds and mammals such as baboons, can often be seen browsing close to the lodge and its grounds, much to the fascination of the visitors.

There’s accommodation for up to 180 people, either in deluxe family rooms or suites. Each room is designed with an en suite bathroom and a balcony. The rooms are fitted with beds draped in mosquito netting, a worktable/chair and full-length windows. The rooms all have great views of the park, garden or lake, and two of the suites have a private verandah and sitting room.

The service is unmatched anywhere in Kenya. There’s excellent cuisine on offer, too, which includes outside catering, bush barbecues, and, of course, many indulgent sundowners. Mutarakwa Restaurant overlooks a watering hole that’s a magnet for wildlife. After a day’s game watching, the Lodge Mama Nikki Bar offers a panoramic view of the lake and the nearby Mau Escarpment. The lodge also has an enticing swimming pool and regularly puts on evening entertainment and live shows.

As a believer in sustainable tourism, Lake Nakuru Lodge is a member of ECO Tourism Kenya and is active in the conservation of the national park and is supportive of the local community. The lodge also offers a chance to visit and interact with members of various community projects. Among these are the Heart to Heart women’s group and Friends of Lake Nakuru Conservation Group.
