Rock Fig is an exclusive, privately owned luxury safari lodge in the western area of Madikwe Game Reserve. Madikwe is regarded as one of the most prestigious conservation areas in Africa, spanning north from the town of Groot Marico all the way to the border with Botswana.

Madikwe Game Reserve has a thriving population of 86 mammal species, 350 bird species and 104 varieties of trees, all existing in a completely malaria-free environment that offers guests a wealth of wildlife experiences.

Habitats include riverine thickets, vast plains and the towering cliffs of the Rant van Tweedepoort, accompanied with the Enselbergs and the Dwarsberg mountain ranges.

Rock Fig offers guests the perfect opportunity to explore the pristine African bushveld that Madikwe encapsulates. It promises a world-class African safari experience while ensuring guests have plenty of opportunity to relax and unwind. The venue prides itself in allowing guests to tailor their own safari experience, making memories that last a lifetime.

The property features an underground hide overlooking a watering hole. The hide is visited by a range of wildlife from the smallest klipspringer antelope to the largest of elephants. The low angle of the hide gives photographers the ideal position to capture incredible wildlife shots.

The charm and appeal of Africa is reflected in the hues and textures applied in the decor of the luxury suites, through the fusion of South African design and modern comfort, serving as a reminder of the untamed bushveld on your doorstep, waiting to be explored.

The open-plan suites are designed to enable guests to absorb the breathtaking vistas, with panoramic views from the personal plunge pool and outside lounge — perfect for basking in the South African sun.

Upon return from an evening drive, guests are welcomed home to an open boma fire. This is the place to dine in style while looking up at the stars in the clear night sky, sipping Champagne in total seclusion as dusk falls, lulled by birdsong and the majestic roar of lions.
