The 21st century has seen a phenomenal rise in interest in spa and wellness as a more holistic approach to health and mental wellbeing. In the past two decades, fitness has become an integral part of the scene, with new trends being shared globally.

In this issue of the Spa & Wellness Collection, we delve into the fitness trends taking over cities across the globe — think boxing in the streets of Barcelona, disco-lit cycling gyms in Zurich and Brazilian-style jiujitsu in Sydney — as well as revisiting some of the most historic spa towns in Europe.

We also explore some of the world’s most ancient spa rituals that can be experienced today — from the hammams that are ubiquitous across the Middle East and were once important meeting places for local communities, to temazcales, Mexican sweat lodges that have been around since the Mayan age.

Finally, there’s our annual roundup of spas, hotels and wellness resorts to help inspire your next rejuvenating escape, brought to you by our advertising partners.
