Explorer - Magda Bou Daghar Kharrat
Magda Bou Dagher Kharrat is a professor at Saint Joseph University of Beirut – Lebanon. She is a geneticist with special interests in endemic species conservation. She uses DNA barcoding and metabarcoding advanced technology to explore biological diversity and unravel the complex interactions linking species. These interactions are at the heart of the ecosystem restoration approach that she implemented through the NGO Jouzour Loubnan she co-founded in 2008. With a contagious passion for biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration, Kharrat has published several peer-reviewed articles, and been recognised with several international awards.
