2018 National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year Contest
Christmas From Above comes to the National Geographic Channel on 11 Dec at 8pm.
"Mt. Sharidake [in Japan] is called Onne Nupuri in Ainu language. This is a helicopter shot of Mt.Sharidake. You will see Mt. Unabetsudake and the Shiretoko mountain range in the distance. It was an amazing time for me and it was the most impressive scenery I've seen in my life."
"Aerial shot of sunset over Reine, Lofoten Islands, Norway."
"Beautiful sunrise over turquoise waters of the Moraine Lake with red snow-covered peaks above it in Canadian Rockies, Banff National Park, Canada. I travel a lot around the world and couldn't think of seeing something that would strike my imagination. Moraine Lake is really an incredible picture. I couldn't even photograph the first half hour, I just sat there and enjoying this beauty. I want to come here again and I'm sure I'll never get bored. It truly is a sight to behold with your own eyes."
"Hiking in South Tyrol is a one of a kind experience. It was the first time I was walking so close to the edge of a mountain, almost surrounded by clouds. Nature's power in these situations reminds us that we're only guests on this planet."
Aurland, Norway: "We woke early in the morning to visit the fjord and take photos of the dawn lights on the mountains and the reflections of the mountain on the clear water."
Alto Adige, Trentino, Italy. "I spent the last five years travelling around the world, but after the first time visiting this place, I kept going back. What I love about going back to a place I know is to see how the landscape and light direction are changing according to the season."
"Sunwapta Falls is a stunning place in the middle of the Canadian Rockies in Jasper National Park, Canada."
"The first beam of sunlight is shining on St. John's Peak, with a sea of clouds in the background. Gua Paka, Sabah, Malaysia."
Cuernos Del Paine, Chile. "Stay close to anything that makes you glad you're alive. This was taken in 2017 during a 3 month trip in Patagonia with my girlfriend. We have been traveling the world for the past 5 years and there is nothing better than share this moment with someone you love."
