A runner's shadow against the blur of Aspen leaves in Colorado. Recreational running, with or without a competitive component, is popular and has both physical and psychological benefits. Those include preventing obesity, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes. Running also boosted a sense of well-being by decreasing depression, anger, confusion, tension, and fatigue.
