Hunan Seafood Wholesale Market, which Chinese public health authorities say was the origin of most early cases of the novel coronavirus, was closed in early January. The market sold fresh produce and seafood, as well as wild animals that were slaughtered for meat. It has not been reopened.

Indigenous Bribri women in the village of Yorkín, Costa Rica, have been sustainably supporting their community with ecotourism for over 20 years. Through the Stibrawpa Women’s House Association, Bribri women give tours about their ancient culture, contemporary life, and organic farming.
