Julia Wimmerlin
"Earlier this year I travelled to Dubai for a family reunion. As much as the city is built to impress I find the desert much more fascinating," writes Your Shot photographer Julia Wimmerlin. "It has been my dream to spend a night in the desert and that's what we've done. Much to my surprise the desert tour company used these old Land Rovers to bring us to the bedouin camp. Seeing this car at sunrise made me feel as if I was in a historical movie."
"I could have never thought that I can disregard cold, snow, hunger and many other inconveniences just in order to observe wild monkeys taking a hot bath," writes Your Shot photographer Julia Wimmerlin. "And yet I did it for many hours envying the Japanese macaques having their time in the hot spring whilst I was freezing my hands off. But observing these extremely entertaining animals in such a human situation was completely worth it. Jigokudani Monkey Park, Joshinetsu Kogen National Park, Japan."
"Not to be confused with flamenco, Sevillanas is a folk dance and music of Seville region in Andalusia, Spain," writes Your Shot photographer Julia Wimmerlin. "I met this magic Sevillana at the Alcazar of Seville. Since the place itself comes from an Arab fairy-tale I was nearly expecting something extraordinary to happen so I was not even very surprised when I saw this girl. She probably had a fashion shoot happening next door but I had my few minutes of photographic bliss whilst she was checking her dress."
