Topanga Canyon, USA: "One of our outside chairs is being taken over by weeds," says photographer Karla Gachet. "This is a reminder of time going by, even though our days seem to blend into each other and we feel suspended, waiting for the normal."
Topanga, California: Mike Bae, the owner of the General Store in Topanga Canyon, has provided his eight employees with masks, sanitiser, and gloves. He has experienced a surge in business since the pandemic began.
Topanga, California: "Our short daily outings are always in the evening to avoid our neighbors," says photographer Karla Gachet. "We try to find hidden places where we can just be. Feeling the wind in our skin, we let go of all our day's drama as the sun goes down."
A mother and her baby celebrate the end of her cuarentena, or quarentine, with an herbal bath. The tradition, common throughout Latin America, requires new mothers to rest under the care of their relatives for some 40 days after childbirth.
