Sea kayaking in Svalbard.
All the best Antarctic expedition ships invite their guests to explore in sturdy rubber speedboats to admire the shifting colours of the icy landscape up close.
Led by expert guides and in the right conditions, it's possible to snowshoe across plains, stride up gleaming slopes, cross technical alpine passes and even go ice climbing.
"India's Holi festival is unlike anything seen on earth. It's a time for great celebration and one that transcends socioeconomic class with a week of festivities. We had lined up for two hours to enter the Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan for Phoolon wali Holi—a 20-minute moment of chaos where thousands of people spill into the temple and are showered in colour and flowers. The pressure from the crowd was so great that it crushed my phone when I was pinned against a ledge."
"Easily the most spectacular place I have ever visited. Tulparkul Lake was a designated stop on our 2017 journey through Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The lush, rolling green hills were surrounded by endless clear blue lakes—all set at the foothills of 7,000-meter peaks."
“During a misty morning adventure in New South Wales, Australia we came across this dark road filled with autumn leaves on the side of the road,” writes Your Shot photographer Matt Horspool. “My friend had a clear umbrella and I spontaneously thought it would be a great idea to shoot something like this. It took a few goes but this was the final image.”
