Rare Snow In the World's Hottest Desert

January 9, 2018—The normally hot Sahara experienced a rare weather phenomenon in January: snow. In this video recorded in Algeria, snow dusted the desert’s sandy dunes. With temperatures touching 1 degree Celsius, this white blanket stayed briefly through the morning before melting away. However, a few residents found the opportunity to enjoy some winter fun.
