TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY FOR NGC EUROPE LIMITED (Promoter)
“Galápagos Competition” (Prize Promotion)

By entering the Prize Promotion, all entrants are deemed to have accepted and agreed these terms and conditions.

This Prize Promotion is based upon answering 3 questions, with entry to those persons complying with the terms and conditions who answer such questions.   The winner of the Prize Promotion shall be chosen from the pool of entrants who answer the first two questions and then who correctly answer the third multiple-choice based question and accordingly, this is a skill-based competition.

Entrants

1. Entrants must reside in the UK, Jersey or Guernsey and be aged 21 or over.

2. Employees of the Promoter or any of their wholly-owned subsidiaries or any suppliers connected with the administration of this Prize Promotion or any members of those employees’ families are not eligible to enter.

3. Entrants can enter the Prize Promotion only as specified in these terms and conditions.

4. The winner may be required to provide the Promoter with the form of proof of identity as Promoter in its sole discretion requests before receipt of any prize. Failure to produce sufficient evidence as to identity may result in disqualification.

5. Failure to comply with any of these terms and conditions (including instructions) will disqualify any entrant from taking part in the Prize Promotion and the entry will be invalid. The Promoter retains sole discretion to refuse entrants the right to enter if it feels that these terms and conditions are not being complied with or for any valid and justifiable reason.

6. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant and/or winner and/or amend these terms and conditions at any time in its absolute discretion.

Entries

7. To enter, entrants must register with their full name and email address and then answer the multiple-choice question on the following website: nationalgeographic.co.uk/winacruise

 8. All entries must be received during the term of the Prize Promotion commencing at 9:00 GMT on 27 April 2018 and ending at 23:59 GMT on 19 August (Closing Date). Only one entry is allowed per natural person. The Promoter does not accept any responsibility for network, computer hardware or software failures of any kind that may restrict the sending or receipt of an entry. Any entry received after the Closing Date will be invalid.

Prize Promotion

 9. No purchase is necessary for entry in the Prize Promotion.

10. Any entry made giving another person’s (or a false) name or other dishonest information will be disqualified.

Prize Draw

11.  1 winner will be chosen at random from the pool of entrants who answer the following 2 gating questions on the nationalgeographic.co.uk/winacruise website and who then answer correctly the third skill-based question:

Question 1. Where did you purchase National Geographic Magazine?

A: Tescos

B:  Sainsburys

C: Waitrose

Question 2. How many copies of the magazine do you buy a year? 

A: This is my first issue

B: 1-2 copies a year

C: 3-4 copies a year

12. The 1 winner shall be contacted by email by the September 10th  2018.

13. All entrants, other than the winner chosen from the pool, shall be deemed a “runner-up” in the prize draw and shall receive a subscription offer for a National Geographic branded magazine.

14. The Promoter’s decision in this Prize Promotion is final and legally binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

Prize

15.  The prize offered by National Geographic is a trip for a family of 4 (maximum of 2 adults and up to 2 children of the adults) (two cabins) on the National Geographic Endeavour II to Galapagos for 10 days, worth US$ 35880, excluding flights. The trip includes a post-voyage night in a hotel in Guayaquil.   National Geographic will cover the cost of economy flights from the UK to the Galapagos (including both international flights and internal flights from the UK to a destination near to where the cruise departs for the Galapagos). The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the aforementioned prize for a different prize of comparable value if the aforementioned prize is or becomes unavailable for any reason.

16. The prize for this Prize Promotion will be given to the winner as set out in these terms and conditions. The winner must accept the prize in that form. Under no circumstances will cash be given as an alternative. The prize is non-transferable, non-negotiable and cannot be substituted for any other prize or cash value.

17. If the selected winner is unreachable, ineligible, disqualified or fails to claim the prize within two weeks of notification being sent by the Promoter, that winner automatically forfeits the prize.

18. The winner will be liable for any taxes or surcharges that may be levied on the prize and for any expenses not specified in the description of the prize.  The winner shall be requested to, and agrees to, enter into an affidavit in the form provided to him/her by National Geographic by which the winner confirms formal acceptance of the prize and acknowledges that the winner is liable for all (if any) taxes and surcharges that may be levied on the prize. 

19. The Promoter will not be held liable for a prize if it does not reach the winner for reasons beyond its reasonable control.

20. The winner uses the prize at their own risk.

21. The Promoter shall not be liable in any way for any failure, liability or breach by any third party in connection with this Prize Promotion or prize and accepts no responsibility for any loss, property damage or personal injury suffered by the winner relating to this Prize Promotion or the prize, except in the case of death or personal injury caused by Promoter’s negligence or fraudulent misrepresentation and, so far as permitted by law, the Promoter its associated companies and agents exclude responsibility and all liabilities arising for reasons beyond its control including any act or default of any third party supplier.

Publicity and Personal Data

22. All personal data submitted by an entrant in connection with this Prize Promotion is submitted voluntarily. All personal data collected from entrants will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of administering the Prize Promotion and by entering this Prize Promotion, entrants’ consent to Promoter using this information to contact them in respect of both the prize and the ‘runner-up’ prize. Entrants also consent to receiving the National Geographic newsletter.    If at a later stage you wish to withdraw your consent to receive such materials please select the “unsubscribe” link which can be found on the Promoter’s website newsletters. 23. By entering into this Prize Promotion you consent to your personal data being passed outside the EU for the purposes of processing and storing on the Promoter’s servers for the purpose of administering the Prize Promotion.

24. By entering this Prize Promotion, each of the entrants agree to the use of their name and/or likeness without compensation, for the Promoter’s promotional and marketing purposes.

Miscellaneous

25. Entrants indemnify the Promoter, its agents, employees, representatives, associates, affiliates, parent and subsidiary companies against any and all claim, losses, costs, damages, liability and expenses arising out of the entrant’s breach of any of these terms and conditions.

26. Each entrant by entering this Prize Promotion expressly releases the Promoter, its affiliates, agents, employees and directors from any claim, action or demand arising out of or in connection with the Prize Promotion or their prize, if any.

27. The laws of England and Wales govern these terms and conditions.

28. The Privacy Policy, set out below, applies to this Prize Promotion.
