01 La Rosa Vermutería 
This spot is exactly what you want from a tapas bar. It's always noisy, packed to the rafters, and has a great atmosphere. The food is simple, classic tapas. Go for the made-to-order tortilla Española, the Galician-style octopus or Iberian ham with a glass of Albariño wine and you can't go wrong.

02 Rosevelvet Bakery 
When it comes to breakfast, I love the Rosevelvet Bakery. It's run by a young couple who are passionate about serving the best coffee in town, and the tempting aromas of their homemade pastries and cakes always manage to drag me in when I'm walking past on my way to do some shopping.

03 Xurreria Rosaleda
Dunking churros into delicious, thick hot chocolate has become part of Spain's social fabric over the years. If you want to see a true cross section of Spanish society, spend a few hours here. During public holidays, the queue stretches around the corner. Go between 5pm and 6pm for a typical Spanish treat.

04 Mercat de l'Olivar 
I feel blessed that the amazing Mercat de l'Olivar is just around the corner from us. The market is always worth a visit to see all the wonderful, fresh produce. The fish section never ceases to amaze me — there's also an oyster bar where you can enjoy a glass of Champagne and sample some of the incredibly fresh seafood on offer.

05 Sa Roqueta
If you're looking to splash out on some seriously good seafood, head to Sa Roqueta, a simple Spanish restaurant tucked away on a quiet little street next to Portixol harbour. It's famous for its fresh fish, lobster and prawns, all of which are caught locally and treated with the utmost respect — simply grilled.

Marc Fosh is one of Europe's most exciting culinary talents, and became the only British chef to win a Michelin star in Spain, where he's worked since 1991. His eponymous restaurant is in Hotel Convent de la Missió in the heart of Palma.
