The Azalea is one of only a handful of 145ft steel-hulled super yachts in the Maldives. With a classic Lloyds-class hull, the vessel can accommodate 18 guests in nine rooms. Among these is the master suite, which is kitted out to appeal to the traveller looking for a touch of class. However, apart from just the design and look of the cabin, there’s the ultimate luxury — the 180-degree view of the crystal clear waters that surround the Maldives.

The best thing about going on a cruise is waking up wherever you desire. The ideal destination just needs to be requested — be it a sandbank or pristine reef or a Robinson Crusoe island — and the dedicated crew will ensure that it’s done. Guests can open curtains to breathtaking views of unchartered territories in the Maldives with beautiful paradise islands.

The inspiration for the yacht’s interior was drawn from the world’s leading boutique hotels. The accommodation is cosy and comfortable while at the same time remaining stylish and classy. The stable hull ensures travelling is always smooth and dining outdoor on the lounge deck, or eating dinner next to the ocean besides 15ft manta rays, is a regular pleasure. This is just one of many requests available to guests — every trip is very much tailor made, from the destinations, to the food and drinks, not to mention the activities. Everything is prepared on a client-by-client basis.

A very special consideration is given to food. Many guests return year after year just to enjoy the freshly caught lobster, or delicious organic papaya juice. The chef is also renowned for his many sashimi varieties and local delicacies. After so many guests requested recipes, the chef now offers live cooking classes.

Azalea and its team help guests plan their trip in advance, schedule their activities, mark locations, plan out classes for surfing, obtain PADI certificates up to master’s level, design their own breakfast, set up weddings or the often-required surprise sandbank birthday party option. In a time when holidays are constrained by what hotels can offer, Azalea takes the complete opposite approach, by letting guests plan virtually every minute of their entire holiday in the Maldives.
