Perched on the hillside of Pyrgos village in Santorini, Carpe Diem Exclusive Boutique Resort is a spa resort offering stunning views, privacy and exclusivity. Every suite has its own plunge pool and 270-degree-wide views of Santorini’s world-famous sunset. With just 10 suites and a strict adults-only policy, the resort has been purpose-built as an exclusive romantic retreat. Guests can experience local gastronomy at the hotel’s boutique restaurant and unwind at Althea Boutique Spa, which features treatments inspired by Greek nature and Apivita’s natural cosmetics. The concierge team is also on hand to ensure a truly bespoke Santorini experience — reservations can be arranged for the finest yachts, restaurants and wineries.

Designed by local engineer George Kopatsaris, the suites are built in an oval shape over two levels, facing north; this design allows the hotel to be parallel to the sun’s motion. Guests can therefore observe an evolving and diverse colour gamut on the horizon throughout the day. The upper level features the whitewashed and curvy Alba and Aura suites, which has 85sq metres of private space. The lower level, however, is built with black volcanic rock and features larger suites: Lava, Lapis and Vita, all with private pools and 120sq metres of private space. A special mention goes to the Lava suite — a tribute to Santorini’s centuries-old wine-making heritage, featuring a temperature-controlled wine bar with the finest local wine, a vinyl record player and a heated private pool.

Santorini is one of the world’s most celebrated destinations; with the unique volcanic landscape and stunning sunsets making ideal scenery for an escape. The village of Pyrgos is a place of unspoilt beauty; a refined destination on Santorini’s highest point, with incredible panoramas of the Aegean archipelago and the famous Caldera. As Santorini’s most important medieval town, Pyrgos brings together a diverse architectural history, from the Venetian-inspired fortress on the top of the village to the quintessentially Greek cobblestone streets and whitewashed local houses.
