The Danna Langkawi is a hidden gem on Langkawi, the Jewel of Kedah — a classic hotel which is stylishly decorated throughout. It’s a short drive from the airport and is close to the Langkawi Cable Car, from which guests can gaze down at the sweeping views of the rainforest canopies and surrounding islands.

There are 125 rooms and suites, all of which are decorated elegantly and in warm hues. Each room features a private balcony with tranquil views from sunrise to sunset of the marina, ocean and lush greenery that envelops the hotel. In addition to the luxury hotel, 10 private beach villas have recently been built to offer extra privacy for in-room dining or spa treatments.

The Danna Spa houses seven single and two double rooms with either hill or marina views. The spa offers a variety of traditional treatments, including couple spa therapy, prenatal massages, children’s treatments, and pedicure and manicure services. Yoga classes can also be arranged.

From dawn to dusk, laze by the three-tiered infinity pool or on the beach. Relieve stress in the whirlpool bath while the youngsters play in the children’s pool. Families travelling with kids can opt for babysitting services too with advance bookings from the Children’s Club.

Enquire about the various optional outdoor excursions from the guest experience planners. The Danna Langkawi also offers intimate wedding packages.

Diners can savour many types of food, from Asian cuisine to international dining experiences. Terrace, an authentic Italian restaurant, is open every day for lunch and dinner, serving guests traditionally prepared pizzas, sandwiches and freshly made pasta. Planter’s is also open daily for breakfast and dinner, serving a tantalising array of Asian cuisine. The Verandah lounge allows guests to enjoy pre- and post-dinner drinks, while whisky, wine and cigar aficionados will find they have a dedicated room. Sip tea and snack on the afternoon nibbles or have lunch at Straits & Co, which prepares a menu of both Asian and British cuisine. And if it’s too hot, simply cool down with an ice cream.
