Hotel Villa Honegg, high above Lake Lucerne, has views of lush greenery and the soaring Bürgenstock Mountain. The region has a wide range of attractions, from exploring the medieval architecture of Lucerne to the Hammetschwand Lift, which takes guests to the top of the mountain allowing them to enjoy its sweeping surroundings. The property’s vision comes from Emil Durrer, who was inspired by his family’s passion for the hotel trade. Hotel Villa Honegg opened in 1905 and in 2011 it underwent a renovation by award-winning London architects Jestico + Whiles.

There are 23 modern, stylish guest rooms and suites available. All feature a private balcony with views of either the mountains and lake, or both. If travelling as a larger group, guests can book an entire floor, which comprises five rooms.

Guests at the hotel can enquire about the numerous outdoor excursions on offer. There’s everything from waterskiing or mountain biking on the Bürgenstock to a wealth of walking paths. The Hotel Villa Honegg is in a fantastic location for the adventure traveller since it provides an ideal jumping-off point to explore everything the region has to offer.

For relaxation after a long day, take a dip in the outdoor pool. Heated to 34C, guests can laze in it at any time of the year, while looking out at the gorgeous panoramic views of the lake, mountains or billowing clouds in the valley below. Try the whirlpool area, too. Alternatively, for those who would prefer to relax by the water inside, there’s a spa, which has an indoor pool. Make the most of the Finnish sauna and steam bath, which include a crushed-ice fountain for keeping cool.

The Hotel has three meeting rooms for conferences, seminars, strategy meetings and so forth. High up above Lake Lucerne, they make sure that guests can work undisturbed, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday business.

Diners will enjoy the first-class cuisine on offer in the hotel’s restaurant. Awarded 14 Gault-Millau points, it uses seasonal and local ingredients in everything from gourmet Swiss cuisine to small Lebanese highlights. With its private terrace, enjoy the views on a once-in-a-lifetime holiday.
