Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort is an intimate family-owned resort in the Great Bear Rainforest of British Columbia, on Canada’s west coast. The remote location and tailored itineraries provide guests with extraordinary wilderness and wildlife experiences by land, water, and sky. Accessible by floatplane or helicopter, Nimmo Bay lets travellers slow down to the rhythms of nature, while connecting with the natural world around them.

The Murray family welcomed their first guests to Nimmo Bay back in 1981 and continue to do so to this day. The resort, tucked away at the base of the 5,000ft Mount Stephens, has grown over the years to nine spacious-yet-cosy cabins, all carefully constructed with the surrounding environment and the comfort of guests in mind. Six of the cabins are ocean-facing, stilted above the tide line, and three are situated along the stream, among the forest. Running through the heart of the resort is a cascading waterfall supplying both drinking water and green energy.

The Great Bear Rainforest is home to an abundance of wildlife, along with pristine landscapes from the lush rainforest and river valleys all the way up to heavenly mountaintops and 10,000-year-old glaciers.

An array of seasonal adventures and daily activities offer guests access to 50,000sq miles of untouched wilderness. Whether watching black bears from a kayak, exploring the Broughton Archipelago on the look out for whales, heli-hiking along mountain ridges, paddleboarding on glacial lakes, or fishing for wild Pacific salmon, the options are plenty.

At the lodge, guests can rest in their cabins, soak in a cedar-sided hot tub, stretch and find their balance with a yoga class, and relax with a therapeutic treatment in one of the two new massage spaces, either perched above the beach or next to the waterfall. The adventures at Nimmo Bay are complemented with fresh flavours, local ingredients, and gourmet meals, along with the best local wines, beers, and a fully stocked bar. As evening settles over the bay, guests gather around the fire to enjoy music, storytelling and laughter as the stars come out.
