The Haus der Natur (Science and Technical Museum) in Salzburg is one of the biggest magnets for families, offering many fun interactive exhibitions.

Meanwhile, the Festungsbahn to Hohensalzburg fortress offers spectacular views of the city and surrounding mountains. This funicular transports visitors up to Salzburg's most visible landmark in 60 seconds.

Hellbrunn Palace is a baroque villa with trick fountains, secret grottos and water-powered figurines that will leave you equally drenched and astonished.

At the Hallein salt mine, guided family tours include a boat trip across the salt lake, thrilling rides down the miners' slides and a taste of what life was like 2,500 years ago at the Salina Celtic Village.

Breathe in fresh Alpine air and experience wholesome living with a farm holiday, where families spend the night in farm houses and get to meet cute animals.

Dating all the way back to 1913 and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017, this lavish theatre performs a broad repertoire of operas, ballets and plays for children and adults alike — all using marionette puppets.

This toy museum is an interactive space covering a staggering variety of toys. Look out for the retro exhibits — adults are bound to find gems that bring back childhood memories.
