Bristol Berlin is a vibrant, legendary hotel on the famous boulevard of Kurfürstendamm, nicknamed the Ku’damm. Formerly known as Hotel Kempinski, it was Berlin’s first new luxury hotel built after the Second World War, opening its doors in 1952 to usher in the glamorous era of Germany’s Wirtschaftswunder (‘economic miracle’). Hollywood luminaries and famous politicians rank among its guests, from John F Kennedy and Brigitte Bardot to Liza Minelli and Alfred Hitchcock.

The city’s glamorous aura reveals itself the moment guests set foot in the lobby. Historic, golden pillars prop up the Bristol Berlin; while bellhops in classic Berlin flat caps go busily about their work, evoking all the nostalgic buzz of the heyday of luxury hotels.

With a perfect location in Berlin’s City West, numerous attractions, including exquisite restaurants, boutiques and theatres, are within easy reach, either on foot or by public transport.

While luxury and elegance can be found all over the German capital, Bristol Berlin has a distinct charm, with the interiors of each of the 246 rooms and 55 suites revealing a very special touch. Guests can choose between three categories of room and seven categories of suite.

The spirit of Bristol Berlin’s past can also be glimpsed in the adjacent Bristol Café, where open fires crackle in winter and sophisticated high tea is served in the afternoons.
In the Bristol Bar, master bartender Andreas Jochem mixes the best seasonal martinis this side of the Ku’damm and beyond. Discerning diners are also particularly well catered-for during a stay at the Hotel Bristol. In the Bristol Grill, currently ranked among the top 10 grill restaurants in Berlin, a highlight is the chance to enjoy the classic dessert of crêpes Suzette, flambéed table-side.

In 1972, Bristol Berlin constructed what was at the time the very first hotel swimming pool in Germany, spending a then unheard-of sum of over one million marks. The pool area has since been fully restored, offering three saunas and a roster of relaxing massages.
