Founded in 1929, Hôtel Martinez sits at the heart of a truly spectacular cityscape, between the Mediterranean Sea, golden beaches and Cannes’ famous, palm-flanked promenade.

In spring 2018, to mark the hotel having joined The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, the property went back to its roots, unveiling an art deco-inspired facelift that combines contemporary luxury with Mediterranean flavour.

Each space within the Hôtel Martinez gives a nod to a different aspect of the locale. The yachting lifestyle is reflected in the 409 redesigned guest rooms and suites. Moving outside, chic meets bucolic in an oasis of green, Le Jardin du Martinez. The terrace and fountain — shaded by cork trees — transports guests to a Provençal village square, while the scent of lemon trees and aromatic shrubs perfume the air. Each Friday during the hotel season, ‘La Guinguette du Martinez’ evenings see jazz musicians serenade guests.

Le Jardin sits opposite Version Originale, the hotel’s main restaurant, where global culinary traditions are revisited with Mediterranean produce. Set within Le Jardin itself, the Martinez Bar evokes the yachting glamour of this glittering stretch of the French coast.

In addition, two-Michelin-starred La Palme d’Or restaurant offers an ambience inspired by the Cannes Film Festival. Executive chef Christian Sinicropi serves up inventive cuisine around the concept of ‘movement’.

Certified by Green Globe since 2010, the hotel also received the Jury Prize at the CSR Awards from the regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in recognition of its sustainable practices. Environmental conservation remains a priority, and both management and staff are dedicated to protecting the natural heritage of the area. Hôtel Martinez is also a champion of the local community, by showcasing to guests an array of local foods and beverages at its restaurants and bars.

Guests seeking some R&R are in safe hands, at the L. Raphael Beauty spa — where luxurious treatments are on offer — and at the new beach club, La Plage du Martinez from spring 2019.
