With over a century of history behind it, Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona is ideally located in the middle of one of the city’s main thoroughfares, the Passeig de Gràcia. The hotel has become an emblem of this exclusive avenue and a benchmark among luxury hotels in the city on account of its elegance and style. It’s also widely known as ‘the hotel of the arts’ since it displays more than 1,000 notable pieces.

Food at the Majestic, which is overseen by its award-winning culinary adviser Nandu Jubany, is a sophisticated affair that pays homage to traditional Catalan products and gastronomy. Guests can dine at El Bar del Majestic, or sip cocktails in the hotel’s crown jewel, the La Dolce Vitae, a spectacular rooftop bar that offers views right across Barcelona. Up on the top floor of the hotel, visitors will also find a true oasis of relaxation and wellbeing in the Majestic Spa.

Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona recently opened Restaurant SOLC, which has its own estate in the area of Maresme (a mile or so from the restaurant and just a few steps from the Mediterranean Sea). Vegetables are grown here and picked daily for diners to enjoy as part of the menu, a showcase of regional seasonal produce. The menu also features fresh fish from the city’s fish market and delicious meats from local producers.

The hotel was recently awarded a prestigious prize — for best hotel breakfast in Europe 2018 at the 16th Prix Villégiature Awards, which recognise the most beautiful hotels in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Including an extensive buffet featuring fruit, bread, juices, yogurt, Iberian cold cuts, smoked meats, mini sandwiches, and homemade pastries, the Majestic Breakfast Experience is one that shouldn’t be missed. The award was a timely accolade in this centenary year of the Majestic Barcelona Hotel & Spa Barcelona. It was in April 1918 that the establishment opened its doors for the first time, in a building located at 68 Passeig de Gràcia, the Champs-Élysées of Barcelona. This is a neoclassical building that, one century and three generations later, still remains the property of the illustrious Catalan Soldevila-Casals family.
