The destination

As adventures go, a trip to Antarctica ranks as one of the greatest. From braving the world’s most infamous sea crossing to spotting vast penguin colonies, there’s no limit to the exhilarating experiences that await on the Great White Continent. The Antarctic Peninsula is a wildness like nowhere else; it’s here you’ll follow in the footsteps of well-known explorers, witness bright blue glaciers calving dramatically into the sea, watch humpbacks breaching and be left awestruck by the beauty of this untamed landscape. Add activities like polar plunge, stand-up paddleboarding and ice camping, and this really is an adventure of a lifetime.

The prize

Courtesy of Intrepid Travel, the winner will embark on the trip of a lifetime to Antarctica, joining a 10-day Antarctic Explorer voyage from 8-17 March 2020. Return flights from their nearest UK airport are covered within the prize. The trip includes nine breakfasts, eight lunches and nine dinners aboard the expedition ship, the Ocean Endeavour. If a spot of adventure is on the cards, the recipient can join in with free activities including Zodiac cruising and the exhilarating polar plunge — but advance booking is strongly recommended as these fill up fast.
