Chefs can whip up meals with two powerful 1,500-watt burners and a downward grill, which has a wide rack, beneath which is a drip tray that you can toast bread on. It’s easy to clean, and a manual ignition and push-turn knobs are home-away features; it comes in a compact, chrome case with a sleek latch lid and carry handle. RRP: £90

Kit the kids out, too, with Voited’s soft Mini Traveler, a pint-sized version that rolls away into a small sack. RRP: £115

3. Coleman Meadowood 4 Air BlackOut
Forget fiddly poles — this four-person tent uses air, allowing it to be pumped up by one camper in under 10 minutes. It’s bulkier than a traditional tent when packed up, but its handy features make family camping a breeze. Two blackout bedrooms block up to 99% of daylight, helping little ones snooze longer, while keeping it cooler in the day and warmer at night. Barrier-free access eliminates trips plus there’s full head height throughout and a spacious living area for supplies and rainy suppers. RRP: £799.99

The non-stick stainless-steel pans feature folding handles and an aluminium base for efficient heating. Light, portable and easy to clean, this piece of kit is a kitchen condensed. RRP: £44.99

5. Igloo Ecocool Latitude 60 Roller Cool Box
Keep it cool with this eco-friendly ice box, constructed from post-consumer plastic. Available from Cotswold Outdoor, it boasts oversized, all-terrain wheels and a locking handle for suitcase-like travel. Its 58-litre capacity is big enough for essentials like wine bottles, while four self-draining cup holders in the lid lower the chance of spills. Foam insulation provides up to five days ice retention and melting water can drain through the leak-resistant plug after outdoor adventures. RRP: £110

6. Sea to Summit Comfort Deluxe SI
No more snoozing on solid ground — this double sleeping mat adds a layer of luxury. Sturdy, high vertical sidewalls and a four-inch foam core keep campers supported, cushioned and warm in all seasons. This rain-resistant LED lantern is small but mighty. Glowing with 500 lumens, it includes numerous bulb brightness settings and colour modes, including cool white light, warm white light, multicoloured light and warm candle flicker. Shake it for wild light shows, one of which mimics serene dawn skies. A rechargeable battery runs for five hours on high and 200 on low, and doubles as an emergency powerbank. Set it on solid ground or hang it upside down using a hidden hook. RRP: £80

8. Alpkit Vagabond Table and 4 Chairs
Lightweight and collapsible, this set takes a load off. The 50cm x 50cm table isn’t for farmhouse-style feasts, but the squeeze is worth the packability.
