How the Kilauea Eruption Affected this Hawaii Community
On Hawaii’s Big Island, photographer Warren Fintz has for years captured the strength and beauty of Kilauea. But he missed his closest potential contact with the volcano’s wrath—fortunately. Two months ago, Fintz moved out of the Leilani Estates subdivision that’s just been devastated by lava flows.
Photographer Ehitu Keeling, who has family in the area, has also long documented the island’s natural wonders. Both photographers are aiding relief efforts for Leilani, and recording the devastation.
