Lucky Wildebeest 'Cheats' Death In Dramatic Video

This watering hole at Kruger National Park in South Africa offered visitors quite a sight. Until a huge croc bit down on a wildebeest’s head, while a smaller croc latched onto a hind leg. That’s usually how the story ends. But at a watering hole full of hippos, it’s a different story.

In past similar situations, National Geographic Explorer Douglas McCauley commented that it’s likely the hippos were being aggressive to stake their territory. In other words, it's not a case of a hippo rescue – it's more likely they were aggressively claiming their territory. A great example of how animals share space in the wild.
