The ‘World’s Saddest Polar Bear’ Has Been Reunited With His Mother

In 2016, animal lovers named Pizza "the world’s saddest polar bear." Pizza was living in a tiny enclosure inside a shopping centre. Visitors witnessed him showing signs of distress, such as swaying his head and biting at an air vent. Animal welfare advocates say that he had no place to hide from visitors and not enough activity to stimulate his very active brain.

After multiple petitions and requests for Pizza’s relocation, he was transferred to an aquarium in Tianjin. He is living with his mother, has a bit more space, and no longer appears to be showing signs of distress.
