Treat a dry, dehydrated complexion with Bliss Spa's new facial.

I've lived with a dry, dehydrated skin all my adult life. I'm lucky enough to try fabulous skincare products hot of the press and these together with my makeup skills certainly help when it comes to cheating my way to a good looking complexion but the fact remains — no matter how many lotions and potions I apply or how much water I drink, my skin remains perpetually parched.

At least that was my story until recently when I road tested Bliss Spa's new Triple Micro02derbrasion – a 2 hour intensive facial that's left me with the sort of complexion I never thought achievable for my skin type. All the fine lines on my cheeks and jaw present not due to age (I'm 34) but rather dehydration have gone and the sunken areas at the top of my cheekbones have been ‘plumped' to a more youthful smoothness.

I've always been a fan of Bliss facials because the technicians are all exceptionally trained – especially when it comes to painless extraction – and even though the facilities are luxurious, the environment is still clinical enough to make you feel as though the treatment you're about to have is ‘results-driven' rather than just a chill out session.

The hero of the treatment is a combination of a microdermabrasion device used together with a red and blue LED light, however unlike traditional microdermabrasion, which blasts crystals across the skin (something I've always found quite uncomfortable), this tool uses a rotating disk to thoroughly remove dead skin cells at the same time being gentle enough for even the most sensitive skins. The red LED lights penetrate to the lower layers of the skin to encourage collagen reproduction and cell repair, while the blue LED gets to work on bacteria and congested pores.

The above combined with a hyaluronic hydrating mask, a lymphatic drainage massage, a vitamin cocktail and Bliss' signature oxygen gun for that ‘plumping' effect… and two hours slips by in the blink of an eye.

At £265 per treatment I'm not sure that I'll be back every 4-6 weeks as recommended but next time my skin needs a pick me up, Triple Micro02dermabrasion will be my first port of call.
