By Lake Naivasha Crescent Camp

Lake Naivasha Crescent Camp is located on the shores of a vast freshwater lake in Kenya, about 90 minutes’ drive northwest of the capital, Nairobi. Guests are able to forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relax amidst the great scenery provided by the beautiful lake and Mount Longonot on the horizon. The lake is surrounded by a swamp — the area of which varies largely depending on rainfall — and is home to more than 400 species of bird as well as a large population of hippos.

The accommodation is made up of 20 luxury tents. These are fitted with wooden floors, and there’s plenty of space to allow free movement inside and outside for guests’ comfort. All the tents have en suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, plus flushing toilets, as well as a terrace where guests can sit and unwind after a long day — the perfect spot to indulge in a drink while enjoying the beautiful sunset as a calm breeze gentle wafts in off the lake.

The tents have an ambience and style that’s distinctly African — from the outside, their green roofs blend in with the yellow and green acacia trees — while at the same time containing all the comforts of home. They’re designed to help visitors forget the hustle and bustle of their everyday lives, and relax in the great landscape that surrounds the beautiful lake.

The camp has an onsite restaurant that serves local and international buffet options for guests to enjoy either in the dining room or outdoors on the terrace. Guests can also relax while sipping chilled drinks by the outdoor pool. Lake Naivasha Crescent Camp’s staff are always on hand to assist guests in any way they can, always with a smile.

The camp is strategically located by the lake to give guests the best possible chance to watch the wildlife. The camp is very popular with both amateur and professional photographers for the opportunities it offers to capture the surrounding birdlife on film. There are many other activities on offer, as well, including boat trips and watersports on the lake, nature walks, game viewing, and hiking and biking.
