Meliá Zanzibar is an all-inclusive luxury beach resort on the northeast coast of Zanzibar, in Tanzania, also known as the Spice Island.

The resort is ringed by a natural coral reef, making bathing a relaxing and safe experience, and it’s around 50 minutes from the international airport of Zanzibar, and the capital city of Stone Town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

All rooms and suites are decorated in a contemporary style. They’re equipped with large comfortable bathrooms, an outdoor tropical rain shower (except the Romance Pavilions) and a private terrace or balcony — most with views of the Indian Ocean.

The private villas have their own beautiful gardens and pools. The hotel was totally refurbished during summer 2011 and reopened under the Meliá brand in October 2011.

Meliá Zanzibar also features THE LEVEL, a select range of services and facilities designed especially for travellers seeking luxury at the highest level and the superior attention and service that is expected of the Meliá brand. THE LEVEL offers an infinite choice of services designed to create a unique and personalised ambience throughout the stay.

There are five restaurants and four bars all delivering unforgettable culinary experiences and serving cuisine from around the world.

The Spice restaurant, modelled after the traditional spice market found in Stone Town, offers a relaxed dining experience that features an international mixture of cuisines with a distinct Arabian and African influence. The Aqua Restaurant, perched on the cliff side overlooking the Indian Ocean, prides itself in its excellent a la carte menu combining Mediterranean fusion, international flavours and African cuisine.

The Spa, rooted in the timeless healing traditions of cultures from around the world, is designed to restore balance and harmony between body and mind in an oasis of beauty, grace and tranquillity. The spa has six private treatment rooms, three of them with a steam room inside, and an outdoor swimming pool with sun deck.
